Inspiring people exist for a reason

I’m going to organize an open mic event someday. In the Philippines. Maybe two. Maybe make it a thing.

I wanted to be a TV show creator

and then I watched Community.

Not to sound terribly pessimistic (you know I’m quite the opposite), but there was no way anyone could do better than this show in terms of creativity and wit. It’s incredibly fun to watch, and must have been incredibly fun to produce. Dan Harmon is indeed a genius, and I hope he reads enough of these posts to know that the world owes him a great deal for Community.

It’s true. At best, I’m highly sentimental, but really, I’m just materialistic.

It’s true. At best, I’m highly sentimental, but really, I’m just materialistic.

  1. High school memories folder
  2. Radzinsky, my 2-year-old Macbook Pro
  3. CM Punk Uprising shirt, my only wrestling shirt which I desperately looked for during the month-long US trip only to find it on the last minute of our spontaneous last day shopping trip that I had to exchange my emergency Philippine peso money for US dollars at a ridiculous rate. Additionally, it’s the shirt I wear on PPV Mondays, forming instant friendships with WWE fans in Ateneo.

  5. Wallet
  6. Waterproof electronics bag which conveniently houses my DSLR, lenses, batteries, cards, and chargers
  7. New external hard drive
  8. ID
  9. 5-year-old phone
  10. Green Day’s American Idiot which I wouldn’t have saved from a fire if not for its potential sentimental value because reasons
  11. Zelda, my 4-year-old iPod Touch

But alas! I am more materialistic than that. I live in two houses

  1. Tripod

Because I’m too cool for pushpins and I’m too cheap for this

Acrylic paint and handwash does the trick! I mixed 1 part handwash and 2 parts paint. The original ingredients I found used dishwashing liquid, but as any Filipino would know, dishwashing liquid here is always diluted. It would still work, but you’ll need a lot of paint so I experimented with handwash instead.
